Membership

As a member of a completely volunteer, non-profit organization, KDBA relies on each person to contribute to the overall success of the association. Responsibilities include:

  • Timely payment of annual dues - membership fees are due by April 1st and are considered delinquent 60 days past this date (or 60 days past date of joining, whichever is later).  Fees are not prorated.
    Membership year runs from January to December.
  • Read and sign the participation Waiver (click HERE) before boarding a boat.
  • Review and abide by the club's Code of Conduct. Must acknowledge receipt and review of terms during registration process.
  • Volunteer a minimum of 10 hours per year in support of KDBA. Buyout option is available at $10 per hour.
  • Attend KDBA general membership meeting(s).

Annual membership dues for Kent Dragon Boat Association as of January 2024 are as follows:

  • NEW MEMBER (adult) $100/pp
    New paddler has never been a member of KDBA or any other dragon boat association
  • ANNUAL RENEWAL (adult 18-years and up) $150/pp
    • Renew additional family member $120/pp
      Immediate family members only
  • MID-YEAR MEMBERSHIP (adult)  $90/pp
    Effective 7/15/2024 and after
    • Additional mid-year family member $60/pp
      Immediate family members only.
      Effective 7/15/2024 and after.
  • LATE SEASON MEMBERSHIP (adult) $45/pp
    Effective 9/1/2024 or later
  • JUNIOR MEMBER (15 – 17-years old) $75/pp
  • ASSOCIATE MEMBER $40/pp
    For Non-KDBA members who are full-time members of another dragon boat club
  • Visiting/Guest Paddlers - Free
    May attend up to six sessions (see below)

Visitors/Guest Paddlers

To paddle as a visiting/guest paddler, please register as a Visiting Paddler by clicking on the New Member button below.  Please note: ALL paddlers must sign and agree to the terms of the insurance liability waiver before stepping onto a boat.
Visitors/Guests may attend up to six sessions before deciding if they would like to become a member of the Kent Dragon Boat Association. To convert to full membership after your initial sessions, please contact the Membership Focal (click HERE), and they will have an invoice sent to you for the appropriate membership level.
